our purpose

About Us

We lead environmental conservation and restoration efforts focusing on reviving natural ecosystems that suffered degradation or damage from human activities or natural events.

Additionally, we raise awareness about the ecological importance of wildlife to foster responsible coexistence and conservation efforts within communities and emphasize the interconnectedness of human and wildlife well-being.

Our Motivation

The Story Behind Our Cause

The Story

As residents of Maasai Mara throughout our lives, we’ve experienced continuous cycles of boom and bust. During periods of economic growth, job opportunities are plentiful as the local economy flourishes. Conversely, during downturns, the local economy shrinks, resulting in job losses. Over the past decade, the frequency of downturns has increased, while the occurrences of economic upswings have reduced.

The well-being of Maasai Mara’s economy has long relied on maintaining a delicate balance in the ecosystem. As herders, the depletion of Flora & Fauna in the Mara Triangle has directly impacted our livelihoods. Early drying of rivers and waterholes, along with vegetation loss, has sparked human-wildlife conflicts, excessive use of natural resources, and the destruction of wildlife habitats.

For instance, from our childhood until 2013, the area around our home served as a habitat for a Dik-dik family. The diminishing vegetation resulted in the loss of a home for these charming animals. Regrettably, the decline in flora and fauna persists. Tourism has slowed, and local industry employment has become more seasonal.
